Christmas

Hello Everyone! I pray you had a wonderful Christmas this year, and will have a blessed New Year!

This week of holidays has passed by at a rather slow rate. However with having Orlund home I find I'm not needing a nap, which helps have more hours in the day.

Christmas we were spoiled rotten by Orlund's family. My Parents were in Thailand, and my brother in Edmonton. So we will have Christmas with my side later. We spent Christmas Eve at Hazel and Hugh's, along with about 4hours on Christmas day around noon. We had our own little Christmas here in on Christmas morning opening our gifts. And had the Norstrom's over for goodies and games Christmas night.

We haven't been to any parties this year. We didn't hang out with many people this year (due to moving, trips etc etc) so weren't really expecting much. However sure makes you realize how much you miss the parties. We've decided this next year we wont be so 'self' involved and get together with more people throughout the year. We also will be hosting a small group at our home, one through our church. We don't have to teach anything, just provide the house. I'm looking forward to that. It's every sunday night and I like meeting other people. The small group is about raising children so will be interesting to see who comes. We went to a small group before about raising kids and really enjoyed it. There were some couples alittle older than us (kids not in nursery) so it was nice to visit with them and get to know them on a more personal note.

Well I know, I didn't write much however I have some other things I need to get to. One last thing I'll write, we bought a dishwasher! That's right. I'm getting a dishwasher! I LOVE DISHWASHERS!! I always laugh that Orlund and Joy already had a dishwasher, but now it's Mommy's turn to have one :) I called the store and it arrived so we just need to pick it up, and it gets installed on monday morning. I think sunday night I'm not going to do the dishes just so I can try it out right away.

Catching up

Last night Orlund came to me and mentioned that I hadn't updated our blog in a while. He has 2 websites and seems to keep them relatively up to date.... ugh... not me. I have two blogs and my mom's website I'm supposed to keep up with, so far...... falling farther and farther behind. So here I am writing on our blog, what to write? I'll just catch you all up.

Since my last posting in May ~

June~ Joy and I left on a 20hour flight to go visit my mom and her kids in Thailand for 2 weeks. Yes a 20hour flight, just me and my 1year old.. Actually I found out just how good of a kid she is *smile*. Joy played in the basinett the airline provided, slept in it, ate in it, and only came out to nurse the occasional time *bliss*, no movies for mommy but I figured it had to be all about her so was prepared for that. We arrived safe and sound and in good spirits *tired*. It didn't take us long to settle into Mom's busy life *busy busy busy* up at 5am, down at 10pm. While we were there we went shopping *yippee for mommy!*, got massages, got our nails done, took the kidlets to the Pattaya waterpark, tiled their new kitchen, went to the strangest wedding I've ever gone to, and generally had fun playing with Gramma/Mom and the kidlets. Joy was ALWAYS entertained, 16kids that love her will do that. After the two weeks flew by we jumped on the plane to head home. Not so much fun this time. Joy and I both apparently had gotten a cold (probably due to not switching time zones so didn't sleep good), and with altitude changes your nose doesn't stop running... My 'one' weakness ~ boogers! I just put myself into "mommy mode" and dealt with it. Joy also decided to get a few more teeth in on the flight. She still did wonderfully, didn't cry more than 10minutes if you added it all up. Me on the other hand, needed a break, could have cried the whole way, but I made it through. Then we waited at the Vancouver airport for 9hours because Mom was also flying home the same day, just at the end of the day not the begining (luckily I'd packed in our carry-on extra clothes for Joy and I, gotta get outta the booger ones). Joy and I locked up our luggage, found a quiet corner and slept. I rocked Joy back and forth in the stroller while I layed on some benches and 'slept'. It wasn't long *cough* before Poppa/Dad showed up then Gramma/Mom was arriving and we got to come home.

For the next while when Gramma was in Canada we made as many trips to see her as possible, and helped tile their house here in Canada.

So what else? Oh, My husband knocked me up again! lol (he said to say that). That's right! after many many months of trying, after Joy and I returned from Thailand I got pregnant. We are due April 10th (day before my birthday). We thought we were due April 5th, however I had some 'spotting' so the doctor wanted to confirm everything was alright and for the duedate. So I went in and had a dating ultrasound, found out everything was fine and we were due 5 days later. so I am now 17weeks along and, well, doing great *gag*, okay so I'm sick. And tired. But that can't take away the excitement that I have a little baby growing inside me again. I've been able to feel baby move for a few weeks now, and last night Orlund got to feel it for the first time. Tuesday we go in to hear the heartbeat for the first time *exciting*. Then in the next couple weeks we'll get another ultrasound *excited*. At the first ultrasound I got to see what looked like a peanut with a little spot that 'flickered' *heartbeat*. This time we'll get to see a BABY! yippee.

Oh and I don't know if I mentioned but this past April we moved into our new house, a 1/2 duplex. Love love love it! We are finally all settled in, now we just have to figure out how to fit a baby in too. It's much nicer and roomier than our little trailer. Well I think that's enough rambling, I'm going to attach one of my favorite pictures of our girl.

Orlund turned 30 Jan 14th and so as a specail gift I had Joy paint him her first picture. I then got a picture frame and put this last picture on one side and her art work on the other. He was a very proud Daddy, so took it to work and showed it off to his co-workers.

Okay apparently I am not all that talented at uploading pictures, I always upload them backwards :( So these pictures are of Joy trying on a few outfits for mom ~ I was trying to decide what she should wear to a special get-together. This first outfit was the last one I put her in ~ hence the coat hanger, she was getting bored!
This is what happened when I took the coat hanger away ~ she played with her skirt instead.

These are just some fun pictures that Orlund and I thought of taking. We did this at home, I carved the pumpkin and gathered all the other stuff. She really got into it exploring the inside of the pumpkin as well as the plastic bag she was sitting on :)

This is my handsom hubby and my beautiful baby reading an Oracle book....if you don't know what Oracle is- it's a computer language that Orlund is studying for work- doesn't she look interested? He's hoping she'll be a database administrator.
Church picnic, Joy sleeping and Rachel and I visiting (although we don't look like it right now). It was fun to introduce my "sister Rachel" I got a few "I didn't know you had a sister" and "Oh Rachel you made it to Canada" but all in all I got to introduce her to a few more people her age from Youth.

Camping

So we decided to go Camping. We had 4 nights so only 3 full days. It was a cold wet camping trip however we all enjoyed the fresh air, and time together as a family. This top picture is of Joy and I when we first arrived. Orlund was setting up the tent and we watched :)

Since it rained so much we came up with our own little "tent" for Joy's playpen. Really it was a "room" divider for our tent- luckily it was waterproof.

See isn't it just the perfect size for her? we kept calling it a cat door- most people would call it a dog door but since we have a cat it's just automatic to call it a cat door :)

This is our new tent all set up and ready to go... although it's a rather strange tent, and we wish we'd known just how strange when we'd bought it....The main tent gets set up like a normal tent, however you have to use the green/white top you see, because the under tent isn't solid.. Under the green part on both sides the tent is just a screen with no cover. As you can see the green top is pulled out with strings to the ground, which lets the wind come right in!! So we ended up pulling the strings up so the tarp fell flat on the screens- it helped alittle.

Mind Wandering

In this new busy life of raising my daughter I find very little time to let my mind wander. Between looking after Joy, changing, feeding, burping, carrying, entertaining and snuggling my time is spent trying to keep the house looking presentable and spending time with my husband when he’s home from work. Yesterday however was a few moments of beauty and quiet. As my daughter quietly ate my mind began to wander back to three months ago on that fateful day our lives changed forever. The birth experience I believe is a time the husbands get to watch the true beauty of their wives come to blossom, the birth can be messy however the beautiful strength the woman shows is unparalleled, this is what God designed us to be able to do and in doing so it’s a breath taking spectacle. For the soon to be mother it is a time of realization of the need for God’s strength. To go through the birthing experience without the strength of God is one I would never want to attempt. I realized during the many hours of labor that I needed God in more ways than just as a strength provider, but as a comforter and protector. Joy’s heart rate was dropping during the process and I believe it was God which delivered her before serious problems arouse.
My thoughts were cut off there as Joy had finished eating. I glanced down at my beautiful daughter as I pulled my breast away. The sunlight danced through the curtains creating a pale light surrounding us. Joy laid there, a look of content on her sleeping face, her smooth skin calling you to touch and kiss it. I ran my finger along her arm, what an amazing creation of God. She looks like both her father and I, however reflects her own personality we are yet to fully learn of. As I move her up vertically against me to release any air bubbles I begin to think about Jesus, our savior, He was once a babe just as she is. Every baby is different and I wonder what He was like, most likely the perfect baby ~ He is after all the only perfect human. I thank God for my Joy everyday and for the awesome husband He provided me with. I lay Joy down in her bed, give our cat, which’s lying on the floor, a quick scratch behind the ear and head out to find my husband; it’s his turn for my attention.

Oh Darn! she woke up, we hung out for about 3 hours then headed home...well to Uncle Jay's! She then slept for another good 2-3hours!!

Joy had a bad day and was real grumpy ~ however she took one small break to suck her sucky, I got to eat breakfast on this break! Then later in the day she decided to just chill- she felt warm so I helped cool her a bit, she only sat for maybe 5minutes before continuing her crying!! This was yesterday, today thankfully she's happy and snuggly!!

Alrighty. so Baby has arrived as I'm sure everyone knows! I will be uploading pictures anyday now for now ~
Joy Jubilee was born May 14th 2008 (10days late, one day before being induced) @ 11:36pm, weighing 8lbs 6oz, 21" long with a full head of hair!!
I made this blog to share photo's easier with mom who lives in Thailand, she came home for baby's birth however she's going home soon so I'll be updating pictures more often again just to keep her updated on her first Granddaughter.

39 weeks ~ Baby's "dropped".

We decided that since we are in our last week of pregnancy (before the due date anyway) that we should take some pictures as baby could arrive anytime. Baby has definetly dropped ~ and so now I look like I've got a beach ball under my shirt :)

It was such a beautiful day at the park, these pictures were taken around 5:30pm in the evening! It really was warm enough to not wear a jacket (even though it had rained in the morning).
Baby loves to move and kick, and Orlund definetly loves to feel baby move- so do I.

I was just waiting for Orlund to start taking pictures and tell me what to do so I was goofing off showing different poses ~ little did I know he was snapping away already.

It's so exciting :)Again just goofing off :P

Bump in Kelowna

We went away to Kelowna for a nice get away before baby arrives- Easter long weekend was the perfect chance so we took it. In the picture above I'm standing in the gazibo where Orlund proposed to me :)

While I was waiting for him to figure out how he wanted me to pose he started snapping shots and this one turned out fairly good.

In all these pictures I am 34 weeks pregnant.
It was so sunny and beautiful, although there was a slightly cool breeze off the water.

I just had to put a picture in here of my fabulous husband! He takes such good care of me and he's been working so hard lately getting baby room and other areas in our house prepared and ready for our new arrival. I think after watching a birth video in our prenatal class he'd much rather do house chores then ever give birth :)

This is a bit more of a personal picture however I liked it and thought it was a nice shot of my tummy.

These little beauties are either Tulips or Daphodils (don't really know if I spelt that right) I can't remember which bulbs I planted :) Which ever they are they are growing in a pot- I didn't think they would have made it through the winter.
This is our "main" flower bed, and of course we will fix up the bricks etc... we haven't gotten to yard work yet, but I was so excited when these started growing, and look how big they are already!!! YIPEE!!!

Hehehe, this is a silly shot, but I just couldn't resist it, I'm 31weeks + some days here. I'm obviously sitting down here but the bump looks bigger when sitting :)

This is a shot of me standing, still a pretty good bump. Sometimes it looks more "triangular" and other times more "rounded" this is an inbetween shot. Once in a while (usually when laying on my back) baby moves to one side or another and my tummy goes lopsided! It's really entertaining for Orlund and I to watch baby move and adjust.

Kamloops Tile Works new floors

So how do you like the pictures? One day Walter (my boss) mentioned to me "we are going to re-do the floors". I didn't really believe him because I hadn't heard anything from Angie (his wife) and I know nothing this big happens in the office without her okay. To my surprise the next day Angie, Walter and Peter were in the office discussing the best/cleanest way to rip up all the old flooring and how they wanted to lay the new stuff ~ which hadn't even been ordered or picked yet. Apparently we had a few weeks of less work for the installers to do, so this would be the perfect time! They were discussing the ripping up on Saturday. Sunday they actually did it, and by wednesday when I came to work they were already grouting three of the "squares" ~ as you can see the tiles are all layed in the same size squares. The granite that is between the tiles are layed permently, however the tiles are layed on a paper product so when they get discontinued we can take them up easier. (instead of before when our floors were layed to stay down, so we had discontinued tiles on the floor for 10years or so). These are the most popular styles and colours of tiles. The sizes are the most popular as well, most people are scared to go to a 12"x24" or 20"x20" for a "small" area, however each of the squares we layed are 5'6" square, which is fabulous to show poeple how smart it looks! If you need tiles come see us at Kamloops Tile Works!! Oh and we just changed our hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm however we are open until 9pm on Wednesday!

So I received this package in the mail from Nestle- which I'd signed up for at our Maturnity store. And inside was this Baby on Board sign- I had wanted to take this kind of picture for a long time, now I finally had a chance- and yes it actually suction cupped itself to my tummy!

I finally got Orlund to take some pictures, unfortunately he was sitting when taking them, and the pictures didn't turn out very flattering~ or perhaps it's just me? :)
So this is the back of me, Pretty much this is what I looked like from the back before (Or so I think ~ not that I look at the back of me very often).
This is a straight on shot from the front, as you can tell it looks a bit different than it did before :) Again not the most flattering shot of my face, but a good one of the tummy!
So yes this is at 28weeks preggy, the bump sometimes looks bigger or smaller depending on which way baby is laying! These aren't the clothes I had planned to have the pics taken in, but I forgot to get the pics in my party clothes. So sunday night after church just before bed I got Orlund to take these. The bump is definetly developing now eh? Hope these are some pics you wanted mom, they are the most recent I have (last night).

Snow day!

It had been nice and sunny, then one day it did this!! Jan 28th a big snow fall, it snowed all day!
These pictures were taken around noon, so you can imagine how much snow fell after the picture was taken. And our deck and finally got to the point it was cleared off of snow!
This is Tampster saying Hi to mom! As soon as she noticed I was taking photo's she had to ensure she said Hi! (really she was probably begging me to let her inside!)

Hair cut!!

This is what you'd think my hair looked like- in fact we had already cut off 5.5" of hair!! We forgot to take an original picture of the full length (although it might not have all fit in the picture). We couldn't find where the old colouring ended to cut off so guessed approx. Then after a few deep breathing excercises I was ready to take the plung- so to speak- and snip snip!

*POOF* there went another 11" of Hair! As you can see by the picture we didn't cut the front part as the donation. That's right I am donating all that hair (except the origianl 5.5") to Cancer for them to make wigs. After 2years of growing my hair out without colouring it I can finally donate it.

Just a goofy side shot to show off my fabulous due! Twyla (sister-in-law/hairdresser) thought I should keep it like this- Glad she kept cutting :)

And *gulp gulp* here is my short hair- before styling! Already my head felt lighter!! I think my neck grew a few inches just from that weight being lifted off!! So then the finishing touches and...

SHORT HAIR!!! We forgot to take a picture before I was in my winter jacket again- but Twyla had other clients waiting so didn't have time to re-do this shot. I will send more pictures once I've gotten some nice ones! So this is now my new hair cut and I'm finding it much different then my long hair! Hope you like it- if not it grows out! My husband seems to really love it- he say's it's not just 'cause it's something different either, he's already trying to convince me to keep it short!!

This isn't the most flattering picture, however most the other pictures we took didn't turn out as nicely. I am NOT sticking my tummy out, actually I'm trying to suck it in. Of course the dress is VERY fitted so doesn't leave much to the imagination!

Don't I look sexy? this is after I lost 9lbs!! Still haven't gained them back :P I guess my figure would have been nicer if I'd kept my shoes on- silly me, guess I have some more work to do before becoming a model...hehehe

This one is just Toes... I couldn't scan in the pictures, so I faxed them to my computer and then had to do it up in Paint to get them on here... fun fun fun.. but Mom I'm sending you a copy of them all anyway and they are way clearer on the photocopy.

Yippee!! I don't know how clearly you can see these pictures.. On each one they are labelled at the bottom. (should be able to click on the pic and make them larger). The top left is a picture of the spine - pretty self explaining- bum to the left head to the right. The top right is the face and hand- looking down on the head, kinda, You can see the outline of the skull then "pointing" towards upper left is the face looking. There are two dark circles- eyes. Then the hand/s are infront of the babes face (to the left cheek area). The bottom left is not so easy to see, agian head and hands- she took the picture a minute to late and missed an awesome shot. then the lower right picture is the foot- kinda floating in the blackness.. I have an idea, I'll draw on these- here goes-- Okay, kinda annoying that I can't put the picture on the page where I want it.. can tell I haven't used this in a while :(

So those are the exciting Ultrasound pictures, nowhere near as exciting as getting to watch the baby move around on the screen!!! What a wiggler we've got :)

Special just for you mom

I know the two pictures are just about exactly the same.. oh well, I thought since it took me so long to get these posted that I owed you double!! The picture of the picture didn't turn out as good as the real picture is! (doesn't show the true beauty- or colour).

Big red when she was sick!! Had to get taken to the shop.. pout pout. I was sold a broken car!!! But she's doing much better now and hasn't let me down again!
This would be me refinishing the chairs- which still aren't attached to the legs... that's someone else's job! hehehe.

This is me working on the infinite curtains. I know silly to do it in the living room, but that is the best area to lay out all the material! (and NO I wasn't watching TV, just didn't feel like going to the dinning room).

This is the tile table that I did last fall. It was to cold outside to do it out there, so we moved the dinning room stuff into the living room and we had this oversized table in it's place. I don't believe in this picture it has been grouted yet (although if you zoom in it might be). It was alot of fun getting this HEAVY table back outside. (the top comes appart from the legs). I wasn't the best tile job I've done, but it was a fun mosaic to do.

Sunday School

The picture above is of the throne room- where the Sunday school kids do their morning worship.
This is outside the throne room in the hallway- it looks like rock!
As you can tell we took these pictures while everything was still under construction. All the rooms are open now for the kids except this one.
This is the Ark! For The youngest kids. There are picnic tables and animal print pillows for them to sit on on the floor. The lights on the side are like port holes. They light up just not in this picture. You also can't really see it in the picture but the wall with the portholes is actually slanted like in a real boat! The kids were all so excited to finally have 'real' sunday school classrooms.

These two pictures above are of the ladies washroom!! That's right we have a real water fall and sitting area in the washroom!! It's so pretty you could stay in there all day!

The two pictures above are of the Nursery. There is a kitchen like thing in there, and a ball 'pool' thing. Looks likes lots of fun for the kids.

This picture above is of our Kitchen/Conference room. This is where we meet every second Friday for 'Emerge' the new program for young adults (older than youth) to come and learn and discuss Life changing lessons.

The 2 pictures above are of our lobby area. The top one showes a metal 'fence' that is Zack's coffee shop! So you can get a coffee and hang out in the lobby fellowshipping.

Okay, I haven't tried working on this Blog for such a long time that I don't remember how to do it, so I might have to try a few times, or else you'll just have to guess what caption goes to what picture!! The Picture above is of our new Church sign - obviously at night! Isn't it pretty?

This is basically just an empty spot due to us already having 2 blogs and one webpage (think we've got enough?).
I just wanted to be able to leave coments to all those other guys that are using this blogger.
And once we have kids (not for a while) then I would like to use this as my blog site - I like the set up. My other blog is just used for my random ramblings..
